The ABACUS, captures the essence and grandeur of classic 1940's architecture. Totally restored, renovated and embellished with all modern conveniences, our events venue offers all that is needed to make your special occasion, whether large or small, business or personal, one to be remembered. The ABACUS has a wonderful blend of old New Orleans integrated with post war 1940's architecture. The main floor offers space for dancing, buffet lines and seating for as many as 300 guests. In addition to our main floor, the ABACUS offers the use of a second floor for guest seating or, may be segregated to accommodate the bridal party/family's use. The ABACUS provides 125 on site parking slots with curb parking around the building.
All bookings for the ABACUS are coordinated through Lafayette Receptions and Catering LLC who will provide food, beverage, centerpieces, set up and take down. You simply enjoy the moment.

The ABACUS now offers a daily lunch buffet between the hours of 11:am to 2:pm, Mondays through Fridays, and is conveniently located at 530 West Pinhook, within the Oil Center of Lafayette, Louisiana. Quick in, quick out and budget friendly, makes the ABACUS the noon place to be. Our talented Chef Joe Lewis is known for serving daily his award winning recipes. We now also provide onsite AND offsite food catering and bar services. Our weekly LUNCH BUFFET MENU is as follows: Monday: Meatloaf, Garlic Mashed Potatoes & Smothered Green Beans, assorted Veggies, Salads and Soups. Tuesday: Baked Chicken, Rice and Gravy, Macaroni and Cheese assorted Veggies, Salads and Soups. Wednesday: Parmesan Crusted tilapia topped with basil butter cream with shrimp and corn grits with Salads and Soups. Thursday: Meatball & Potato Stew with Rice, (BBQ Brisket as a second entree), Roasted Corn, Salads & Soups. Friday: Fried Stuffed Catfish with Shrimp and Crawfish Etouffee, Corn, Green Beans & Bread with Salads and Soups. * each day we offer a soup de jour, back of the bayou gumbo, a variety of cold salads and mixed vegetables * each day we offer our award winning creole bread pudding topped with white chocolate and raspberry sauce.
